My Learning goals

This year our team is trialling the idea of having a literacy group which the children are in for both Reading and Writing. So far this is working really well! Because I am teaching to a smaller group now rather than the whole class you can really hook in to the students interest. When I have a literacy group for Reading we go and choose the books for the week together!

  1. This year I have two small goals.

1-finding more visual aids to use in writing and reading

    2-celebrate and share more learning

  2. So far this year we have used pictures to help with brainstorms and also questioning. This seems to have made some improvement because the picture has given them more ideas and kept them focused for longer. I have done this especially in writing where we may have made something then taken a picture of it to help with their writing.

  3. The whiteboard have been great to use as a visual aid. We use them to draw brainstorms and plan for writing and we use them to list key words in reading or decode tricky words.
The children love them because they get to use the whiteboard pens which seems to really engage them.
There are loads of ways to use them, we find new ways each day!

  4. I am finding our teams lanyards are working well for our new literacy timetable. The children are getting used to knowing when they are working with a teacher or teacher aide. Each week they have set literacy tasks they have to compete by Friday and they are getting much better at managing their time!
